Dear Coba Members,
We are deeply saddened to share the news of the passing of retired K9 Ateena and K9 Argo. Both dogs served with honor and dedication, leaving a lasting impact on the Sheriff's Department.

COBA is saddened to report the passing of retired K9 Ateena. K9 Ateena was assigned to Investigator James Henshaw. She served as a narcotic detection canine since 2014 until her retirement in 2020. She was dedicated to her job which was evident by the multitude of narcotic seizures and arrest both at the facility and as a task force canine with Homeland Security. Besides being a loyal partner at home, Ateena was a loved member of the family and held a special place in the hearts of the Canine, Visiting and Criminal Investigation's Units who all worked with her. Ateena was loved by all and will be dearly missed.

COBA is saddened to report the passing of Retired K9 Argo. K9 Argo was assigned to Investigator Edward Brady. Argo joined the department on June 10, 2016 as a dual purpose K9 and preformed drug searches in the facility and worked along with SERT doing cell searches as a show of force. He worked until he was forced into retirement due to medical issue at the age of 8. Argo worked with our newest members of the K9 unit before they received their dogs in narcotics training. On October 17, 2025, Argo was put to rest and will be truly missed.
Let us take a moment to remember their contributions and the joy they brought to our department. As well as keeping K9 Investigators James Henshaw and Edward Brady Sr. in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
