A Call for Support: Help Our Retired Member and his Family in their Time of Need

July 30, 2026

Dear COBA Members,

One of our retired Officers, Robert Schwabler, needs our help and support. Rob suffered many catastrophic and life-threatening injuries after being struck and pinned beneath a car driven by an impaired driver. He has undergone numerous major surgeries, including pelvic reconstruction, placement of a rod in his leg, wrist repair, treatment for broken ribs and a punctured lung, reconstructive facial plastic surgery, and emergency surgery for a perforated colon that resulted in a temporary ostomy. This devastating news comes with not just emotional challenges but also significant financial burdens as they navigate treatment and care.

In these difficult times, we have an opportunity to come together and show our support. A donation drive has been started to help cover medical bills, home modifications and vital rehab on his long journey ahead. Every little bit helps, and your generosity could make a world of difference.

Thank you for your kindness and support.

💖
