Winthrop Hospital's Emergency Room Nurses Send Dinner to the Jail in Honor of National Correction Officers Week!!

May 6, 2020

Dear COBA Members;

Earlier tonight, the Nursing Staff from the Emergency Room at NYU Winthrop Hospital in Mineola sent a delicious dinner to the Jail for our Correction Officers, from Antonio's Italian-American Deli in Malverne. They did this in honor of National Correction Officers week, and acknowledging the tremendous amount of stress that Nassau Correction Officers have been working under during this pandemic.

This act of kindness is particularly heartwarming coming from ER Nurses at Winthrop who have been dealing directly with this crisis in unprecedented levels on their own in the Winthrop Emergency Room.

The hand drawn sign below was made by the daughter of one of those Nurses and our own Correction Officer Tom Wolff (Plt 5).

On behalf of every single Nassau County Correction Officer, COBA sincerely thanks each and every one of you at Winthrop Hospital for thinking of us while dealing with your own incredible hardships. You're all doing God's work.

This act of kindness and comradery will never be forgotten.

Stay safe. Stay Healthy.

In Unity with all First Responders and Health Care Workers!!
