Correction Sergeant Greg Lanning will be running for Team Luis. Participating in the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Marathon Challenge

On April 16, Greg Lanning will be running in the 122nd Boston Marathon with Dana-Farber runners. The DFMC team runs and raises funds with thousands of special people in mind. From Hopkinton to Boston, we carry thoughts of those people every step of the way. For me, that special person is Luis Salvador Mendez III aka Lionheart Lou!! Luis has been diagnosed with one of the most dangerous forms of cancer, DIPG. This rare cancer attacks approximately 200 kids a year in the United States. Since this cancer is so rare there is not much funding that goes to treating it. As of right now there is not a cure for this horrific disease. The life expectancy of children diagnosed with DIPG is 8 months.

The definition of Lionheart is brave-soul. Luis Salvador Mendez III is fully earning his new name to fight through this journey as Lionheart Lou. He is not going to be doing this alone. With the help and support of all of us, Lionheart Lou is going to overcome this horrific obstacle. With every step I take in this marathon from today to the finish line I will do so knowing that I have your support in creating awareness and much-needed funding to find a cure for Defeat DIPG!

Greg and Team Luis thank you for your support! Together, we're headed toward the ultimate finish line: a world without cancer. Click Below to donate on the Fundraising page of Greg Lanning and Lionheart Lou.
