It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of little Lionheart Luis Mendez, son of Correction Officer Lou Mendez.
Words cannot express the overwhelming grief that we all feel at the loss of this young innocent child of one of our own.
Little Lionheart Lou fought a valiant battle against an insidious disease with grace and might that no child should ever have to endure.
Little Lou is free from his suffering, but those who are left behind will now have to deal with the grief over the loss of this innocent child.
Our thoughts, prayers, and condolences go out to Lou Mendez, his wife and other children and the entire Mendez Family as well as our entire Correction family.
