COBA is heartbroken to report the sudden passing of 18 year Veteran Nassau County Correction Officer Craig J. Portee.

Most knew Craig as a gregarious and very friendly man who almost always had smile on his face and a kind word to say. It is almost unfathomable that such a kind hearted man with such a physical presence could be taken so quickly.

Arrangements have not been set yet. We will report them as soon as they become available.

On behalf of the entire Board of Governors of COBA and all Nassau County Correction Officers we extend our heartfelt condolences to the entire Portee Family, Craig's friends, and all those who grieve this terrible loss.
