NASSAU COBA IN THE ANNUAL CANOE 4 KIDS RACE

August 20, 2013

Nassau COBA members Richard and Jeanine walk the toughest beat in law enforcement on Long Island. Working in the jail is a difficult job, but what their son Luke is battling is even tougher! Luke is fighting acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Luke is undergoing intensive chemo treatments and all agree that losing is not an option. On August 10th the Massapequa Fire Department hosted their 19th Annual Canoe 4 Kids fundraiser at Burns Park to help the Lang family with the unexpected medical bills. Rich and Jeannine have patrolled the toughest beat in Nassau County inside the walls of the jail but that pales in comparison to the battle that Luke is fighting each day. He is a tough little kid, one of Nassau bravest and we are all very proud of him. It was a great day with a lot of participation and the Canoe 4 Kids Race event get bigger and bigger every year. Many thanks to all who came out and participated. Tune into UCOMM Radio on 94.3 The Shark on Sunday, Sept. 1st to catch the coverage of this very special event.
