The Daughter and Grandson of retired Nassau County NY Correction Officer John Sheil (wife Wilma) of South Carolina are in temporary housing due to a fire that destroyed their home. They barely escaped with their lives and lost everything but the clothes on their backs. The family pet perished in the fire. John's daughter is permanently disabled and can barely walk due to permanent damage she suffered in a car accident. She is unable to work and her adult son has developmental disabilities. John and Wilma are desperately trying to help but are unable to provide enough due to their own advancing age and considerable home health care and medical expenses. Losing everything you own in a house fire 2 weeks before Christmas is heartbreaking enough, being in financial straits and potentially homeless because of it is unimaginable.
John Sheil was a legendary figure in Nassau Corrections, who served with distinction and selfless dedication. Now John and his family need help.
A "Go Fund Me" page has been setup to help John and his family in their time of need. This message is going out to all current and retired Law Enforcement Officers and anyone who would be so kind as to help them in their time of need. Please do what you can by donating a little or as much as you can, particularly during this Holiday Season. Help spread the word!
