Funeral Arrangements for NCPD Detective and Former Nassau Correction Officer Erick Contreras, Brother of Correction Sergeant Chris Contreras

Once again, COBA is saddened to report the passing of NCPD Det. Erick Contreras, Brother of Correction Sergeant Chris Contreras.

Det. Contreras is also a former Nassau County Correction Officer.

On behalf of the Board of Governors of the Nassau County Correction Officers Benevolent Association, we express our sincere condolences to Sgt. Contreras, their entire family and all those who grieve his loss.

Det. Contreras' passing has been designated a Line of Duty Death, attributed to his dedicated work after the 9/11/2001 Terrorist Attacks.

Nassau Police Commissioner Ryder has also posthumously promoted Erick to Detective First Grade. A well deserved honor.

Rest In Peace Our Brother. Sleep With The Angels.

Funeral 1100-1200 hrs

Due to COVID restrictions, a continual flow of mourners will be allowed to pass through the Cathedral to pay their respects, and only 60 people will be allowed to attend the funeral.

Interment will follow immediately at Greenfield Cemetery
