COVID-19 Update on Obtaining Vaccinations Saturday January 16th, 2021

Dear COBA Members;

To say that the rollout of the COVID Vaccination program has been bumpy, would be a huge understatement. From a lack of doses emanating from the Federal government to Governor Cuomo changing the playing field every other day, its been a maddening process.

More on that in a later email.

As for now, our MCU Unit has been working diligently every day alongside the PD's MAO unit to secure appointments for our Members while all other uniformed officers in the County are also obtaining their own appointments.

MCU has pointed out that when our members are called for their appointments, many times unfortunately on short notice, they have run into scheduling conflicts or other issues where our members delay getting their vaccinations. This results in undue delays for all of our members who wish to get the vaccine. As a remedy, the following has been put in place to ensure a much smoother process for getting our members their vaccine appointments.

If you signed up for the COVID-19 Vaccine, please do the following:

CALL 572-4107 AND LEAVE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION ON THE UNIT VOICEMAIL:

1.) NAME

2.) BADGE NUMBER

3.) YOUR PLT/UNIT

4.) BEST CONTACT NUMBER TO REACH YOU/CELL NUMBER:

5.) BEST DAY(S) OFF AVAILABLE TO RECEIVE YOUR VACCINE

6.) PLEASE COMMIT TO THE DATE(S) YOU SCHEDULE.

AGAIN, LEAVE ALL OF THIS INFORMATION ON THE MCU VOICEMAIL.

This is all being done in an effort to streamline the process, so we're not chasing our tails trying to get this accomplished.

Thank you everyone for your anticipated cooperation.

Stay Healthy and Safe;

Always In Unity;

Brian Sullivan, COBA President
