Coba Alert

COVID-19 Nassau County/Northwell Health Rapid Antibody Testing For First Responders

May 1, 2020

Dear COBA Members:

COBA along with other County Unions, the Sheriffs Dept and Police Dept are all actively working together on a protocol for all of our First Responders to obtain County sponsored and Northwell Health administered COVID-19 Rapid Antibody Testing.

A trial run is being conducted at the Homeland Security Center in Bethpage.

There are still operational issues (kinks) that are being worked out so that this program can begin and run as smoothly as possible for the many thousands of Nassau County workers.

Earlier today, a draft directive regarding this program from the Police Dept was mistakenly released and has begun to appear on social media. Be aware that this is an unofficial draft of an internal Police Dept memo and has no business being published on social media showing internal web links and telephone numbers.

If you should come into possession of this leaked memo, DO NOT PUBLISH IT ANYWHERE ON SOCIAL MEDIA!!

An official notification will be put out either by the County or our Dept and will also be done by COBA once the process is in place and ready to go.

In Unity;
Brian Sullivan, COBA President
