Dear COBA Members/Retiress;

77 years ago today, Operation Overlord commenced with the Allied invasion of France on the beaches at Normandy. Often referred to as D-Day, it was the largest seaborne invasion in history and began the liberation of France and later western Europe, laying the foundations of the Allied victory on the Western Front that ended World War II.

This operation was carried out by the Greatest Generation of young men the world has ever seen. Can you imagine being in one of these landing crafts knowing that when that door dropped open you were facing near certain death, but you fought on anyway to save the world from tyranny and oppression.

We will never see the likes of these brave young men again. The upside down world we live in today could sorely use a dose of their leadership and bravery.
