Dear COBA Members:

COBA is happy to report that we were notified today that we won the Arbitration case regarding the elimination of the Desk Lt post. The Arbitrator ruled that our grievance "is sustained and that the County shall reinstate the position of Desk Supervisor assigned to a Lieutenant and that the decision is final and binding." I spoke with the Sheriff and representatives of the County this afternoon who are reviewing the decision and we are hopeful that the Arbitrator's Award will be implemented without any further legal proceedings. This is an excellent win for COBA Members. Great job by VP Brian Doyle, COBA attorney Liam Castro of Koehler and Isaacs as well as Lt. John Esturo who provided vital testimony during the case. Barring any additional action by the County, we will update you on the status of the re-establishment of this post.
