Dear COBA Members/Retirees;

As you all know COBA sent out a "Call to Action" over the weekend to have all our Members get involved by contacting our 6 local Democratic Legislators on Long Island to voice your opposition to the State Legislature repealing Civil Rights Law 50a. This law protects the personnel information of all Law Enforcement Officers in NY from becoming public under the FOIL Law.

This information can fall into the hands of Gang bangers, predators and criminals of every type along with their bottom feeding defense attorneys.

If you did not bother to reach out and complain to these legislators by voicing your opinion as a Law Enforcement Officer then you are just not paying attention. You need to be involved with your union to protect your career and not hope that someone else is going to do it for you. A union is only as strong as the will of its membership.  

Today in Albany, the pandering scumbag anti-Law Enforcement Socialists running New York sold you out and pandered to the criminal element in this State. The looters, the arsonists, the gang bangers etc are who is really in charge in New York, and they own these legislators.

Bail Reform was only the beginning and its only going to get "progressively" worse. If you wear a uniform and a badge anywhere in NYS you are the enemy to these Legislators. For years their insanity has been kept at bay when there was a 2 party system. Now its all one party and the tail is wagging the dog. The City Socialists who are relatively small in number, are calling the shots throughout NY, and the only ones screaming foul are the Law Enforcement Unions. All the moderate Democratic Legislators are afraid of having Primaries run against them by other Socialists or losing their positions outright.

I will be following up on other legislation that is being forced down our throats in the coming days. Its disgusting what is happening in this State and even more disgusting that good honest law abiding citizens and taxpayers are hiding from it.
