It is with great sadness that COBA reports the passing of Retired Correction Officer Derek E Boyd, brother of Retired Correction Officer Dwayne Boyd. Officer Derek Boyd was appointed too the Sheriff's Department on March 16, 2001, and retired on November 30, 2022 after 21 years of service. We ask you to keep the Boyd family and friends in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Retired Correction Officer Derek Boyd will be reposing at the Hempstead Funeral Home Located at 89 Peninsula Blvd Hempstead NY 11550 on Monday April 21, 2025 from 3pm till 6pm.

Funeral Service will take place at Hempstead Funeral Home at 5pm on Monday April 21, 2025.

Interment will be held on Tuesday At Pinelawn Memorial Park located at 2030 Wellwood Ave Farmingdale NY 11735 on

Tuesday April 22, 2025 at 11am.
