COBA And Nassau's Police Unions Join County Exec Blakeman With Senate and Assembly Members Demanding The Repeal of Bail Reform

January 11, 2022

COBA along with the Nassau Detectives Association, NCPD Superiors Officers Association, Nassau PBA, Suffolk PBA and Suffolk Correction Officers Association joined forces with County Executive Bruce Blakeman and numerous members of the New York State Legislature at the Capitol in Albany today. The purpose of this coalition was to publicly denounce at the State Capital, the horrible mess that has been created all over New York State due to the passing of Bail and Discovery Reform Laws.

At a press conference today we continued our fight demanding that these laws be repealed and that Judges in New York be given proper discretion over criminal cases they preside over.

Progressives and cowardly moderates in the New York State Legislature passed these laws, effectively neutering the Judiciary in New York State, emboldening criminals while leaving crime victims defenseless.

This anti law and order sentiment in New York has to change and the only way is to hold them all accountable for the mess they created and to educate the public whether they want to hear it or not.

COBA has been ringing the bell on Bail Reform for several years now. Finally, all of law enforcement and our friends in government are on board to fight back. Its not just a tag line anymore. This is real life. The fight is all about good guys and bad guys, and how to keep our families and law abiding citizens safe.

In Unity;
