Coba Alert

9/11 REGISTRATION SEMINAR FRI, MAY 24TH, 2019 10:00AM AT COBA OFFICE

May 16, 2019

Message from Brian Sullivan, President

To All COBA 9/11 Responders and Volunteers;

Active and Retired;

The Union will conduct another 9/11 Registration Seminar to aid our current and retired Members in signing into the World Trade Center Health Program and various registries to protect your rights. COBA has compiled a database of members/retirees who participated in the rescue/recovery and cleanup after the events of 9/11 and we have assisted many of our people who have been affected, guiding them in getting the information and resources they need.

Please understand several key points.

  1. If you worked in any capacity, either having been sent by our Dept or worked as a volunteer, YOU MUST PROTECT YOUR RIGHTS and register with the World Trade Center Health Program; The World Trade Center Victims Compensation Fund and with the NYS Pension System and Workers Compensation.
  2. You do not have to be sick or suffering from any illness to register in these programs. You simply must protect your rights should, God forbid you ever become ill in the future.

With this in mind, the Union has once again coordinated with Outreach and Education Coordinator Jeannie Kelly to educate as well as walk our people through the proper application process. We need to make sure everyone is properly registered with the various programs listed above to protect your rights and ensure that resources are available to you in the future should the need arise.

If you worked or volunteered during the events surrounding the 9/11 Attacks, I urge you to attend this seminar at the COBA Office on Friday May 24th at 10:00 am. Our Seminars have been extremely successful, but we still have several members that need to sign into these programs.

**

Please be aware that this seminar takes a few hours to complete depending on group size, so make proper arrangements. Your health and the protection for your family is the main goal.

**

Don't be left out.

Please contact the Union office to reserve your spot either through our email at:

NCSCOBA@AOL.COM

or call;

516-937-7800.

Please do not just show up to the Seminar.

Email us or call to reserve your spot. We need to make sure we have adequate space for everyone.

If you are retired and live out of State, notify us via the email address listed above and we will make arrangements to have your registration done via fax or email.

Sincerely,

Brian Sullivan, COBA President
