COBA President Interview on Newsmax National News w/Former Congressman Peter King Re: Crime Surge and Fixing Bail Reform

February 4, 2022

Dear COBA Members/Retirees;

Today I had the pleasure of being interviewed on Newsmax National News Network along with former Congressman Peter King, regarding the surge in crime and gun violence in this country, and what the government is and isn't doing to combat it. Particularly with regard to Bail Reform, giving back discretion to our Judges and holding Legislators, Judges and District Attorneys accountable for the mess they have created.

We in Corrections have been sounding the alarm on Bail Reform and its threat to Public Safety for more than 4 years. We were called "fear mongers and liars". Now this problem has evolved into a national emergency where the NYC Mayor had to meet with the President today to come up with a plan to combat the surge in violence in New York. We told them so. Countless times. Now it has evolved into a national emergency. It's long past time to correct it.

Always In Unity;

Brian Sullivan, COBA President
